The Nordic-Baltic region

To a dominating extent, this course is financially supported by NorFA, the
Nordic Academy of Advanced Study.  This is a granting body of the Nordic
Council of Ministers, with responsibility for coordinating research education
initiatives in the Nordic-Baltic geographical region.  This region is defined
by NorFA as the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden)
together with their adjacent areas (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and
northwestern Russia).  The latter is defined as the regions of St.Petersburg
and Kaliningrad, Karelia, and the regions around the Barents Sea.

All participants from these geographical regions will have their travel
supported by the course organizers (up to a limit).  Hotel and meals on the mountain will be free of charge. Also students from elsewhere in the world are welcome to apply for this course; however in these cases a course fee will be charged, the amount to be determined later.
