Systematic Zoology


The course in systematic zoology is an advance course, 15 ECTS. It provides advanced knowledge about the systematics and morphology of animals, and covers both recent and fossil groups. The course also gives insight into phylogenetic method and the principles of zoosystematic work, such as the description of species, rules of nomenclature, and microscopy technique. The course lays the foundation for research education. The course includes compulsory field studies during two weeks. The course is given in the period November–January.
