Calzetti comes from University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA) and will be a visiting scientist at the Department of Astronomy. Her field of research is the history of galaxies. Her most famous result is called the Calzetti law and describes how light is affected by dust in galaxies. Thursday June 2 at 10:00, she will give the lecture The Universe from Space. The lecture is open to the public and will be held in the Oskar Klein auditorium, AlbaNova, Roslagstullsbacken 21, Stockholm.

The visiting professorship is named after Tage Erlander, who was Prime Minister of Sweden in 1946-1969. Erlander studied physics and mathematics at Lund University in the 1920s. On the 80th birthday of Erlander, the professorship was established in his honour.
