Course description

In this course you will study the physical processes that dominate the “empty” space between stars, i.e., the so-called interstellar medium. In particular, you will study photoionisation, recombination, line emission, continuum emission, dust and shocks. This knowledge will then used to understand planetary nebulae, supernova remnants, interstellar clouds, stellar winds and active galactic nuclei.

Examination
