On March 20, there will be a solar eclipse. From Stockholm, it is visible as a partial eclipse (about 85 % of the Sun's surface is covered by the Moon). If the skies are clear, we at the Department of Astronomy will set up some telescopes with solar filters, and special glasses to view the eclipse (the large AlbaNova telescope can not be used for observations of the Sun). Never look at the Sun with unprotected eyes!

We will be outside the main entrance of AlbaNova (Roslagstullsbacken 21) between 9:45 and 12:00 if the weather is good. The maximum of the eclipse occurs around 10:45. No booking is required.

Weather update: The weather is cloudy, but the Sun is visible to some extent through the clouds. We have set up a telescope, but the viewing conditions are not great.
