On December 8, the three laureates in physics gave their public lectures in Aula Magna at Stockholm University. James Peebles described the development of cosmology during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, while Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz told the audience about the discoveries of extrasolar planets, starting in 1995 with their discovery of 51 Pegasi b.

James Peebles also visited AlbaNova University Center on December 13, where people in the crowded lecture hall enjoyed a fascinating story about his life in cosmology, filled with interesting historical remarks, as well as recent discoveries and anecdotes from his work in the field.
