One PhD position is available to work with Dr. Ragnhild Lunnan (ragnhild.lunnan@astro.su.se) on observations of supernovae, focusing on rare and unusual events including but not limited to superluminous supernovae, and with the goal of understanding the underlying explosion physics and progenitor star populations. We are currently partners in the Zwicky Transient Facility project, and actively preparing for participating in the next-generation Vera Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time. There will be opportunities to work on a number of different aspects, ranging from host galaxy studies, analyzing individual supernovae, as well as building statistical studies, and to work on data from a variety of facilities including Hubble Space Telescope and the X-Shooter instrument on ESO/VLT.
