Welcome to our research pages!

At the Department of Astronomy ground-breaking research is being done over a wide spectrum of subjects within astronomy and astrophysics. The research groups at the department works with solar physics, supernovae, exo-planets, galaxies, the intergalactic medium, star formation, and more. We use both top modern telescopes (for example, the Swedish Solar Telescope at La Palma, the Very Large Telescope in Chile, and the James Webb Space Telescope) and supercomputers to try and understand the universe.
