Course description

In this course you will study the basic theoretical and practical prerequisites to detect astronomical signals. Emphasis is on electromagnetic radiation, but also astroparticles and gravitational waves are dealt with. Coherent and non-coherent detection are studied with application to multidimensional spectrophotometry, adaptive optics, heterodyne technology and interferometric measurements. The course gives the necessary knowledge to enter the course Observational Astrophysics II.
